Puhunan Para sa Pag-asenso: Benguet MSME Financing Forum

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Baguio-Benguet recently held its event “Puhunan Para sa Pag-asenso: Benguet MSME Financing Forum”, a gathering designed to highlight financing programs and opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The forum was made possible through a partnership with the University of the Cordilleras College of Business Administration and the Society of Junior Entrepreneurs. Together, they created a space where students, aspiring entrepreneurs, and existing business owners could connect with institutions that support enterprise growth.
Representatives from major banks—including Landbank, BPI, UnionBank, and Rang-Ay Bank—presented their loan products and services tailored for MSMEs. Government agencies such as DOST and SB Corp also shared their programs, while private platforms like Grab and GCash discussed digital tools for reaching customers and managing transactions.
One of the key takeaways was the importance of building financial literacy and adaptability among MSMEs. While many programs exist, entrepreneurs often face barriers in navigating requirements, scaling operations, or diversifying marketing efforts. Speakers emphasized that finance, technology, and strategic promotion must work hand in hand to achieve long-term sustainability.
The forum underscored the commitment of both government and private stakeholders to help MSMEs in Benguet thrive. By giving entrepreneurs access to financing opportunities, digital platforms, and expert insights, DTI and its partners are laying the groundwork for a more inclusive and resilient local economy
